Want to try PlayCast by PlayOn? Here's how to get started:

  1. Get PlayOn and prepare your device
  2. PlayCast from PlayOn depends on the PlayOn media server. Once you have the latest version of PlayOn installed, then follow these simple directions.

    If you have a Roku: You'll also need to add the free PlayCast channel to your Roku. You can do that by visiting the Roku channel store. If you have an Xbox, Xbox One, or other supported device you're already all set.

  1. Enable PlayOn
  2. Once you have PlayOn installed, you will need to enable it for your browser. Open up PlayOn Settings and click on the Browsers tab. Click on the checkboxes to enable PlayOn for your favorite browsers then click the Apply button.

  2. Now just open your web browser and go surfing! Once you're on the web page with the video you wish to cast, just click on the PlayOn icon which should be at the top of your browser. Then pick which device you want to cast to from the list of available devices*, and watch the video on your TV!

*Your Roku, Chromecast, and Xbox 360 devices must be on the same network as your PC. Chromecast and Xbox 360 will automatically appear in your PlayCast by PlayOn devices list. To use PlayCast by PlayOn on your Roku you must install the PlayCast by PlayOn Roku channel — Get it free in the Roku Channel Store.

Minimum Requirements for the PlayOn Media Server

  • Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later) or Windows Server 2003/Windows Home Server (Service Pack 1 or later). 64-bit versions of Windows are also supported.
  • Windows Internet Explorer 7 or later
  • 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
