The Broadband Olympics - What do you think?

So this has been dubbed the Broadband Olympics. NBC has undertaken offering over 5,000 hours of streamed and on-demand Olympic coverage in the two week Olympic timeframe. All of this video is recorded in China, edited, and offered up to us, the consumers, in record time. WOW. The Broadband coverage is a great way to check out more esoteric sporting events, or to make sure you see that race you have been anticipating, despite the fact it will occur while you sleep.

Check out the recent amazing upset: Swimming Relay

So - what I want to know is - are you watching? Have you used NBCOlympics.com? What do you think? Oh, and don't forget to stretch before the competitive fever strikes you too!

I tried it - it's really, really cool that they are putting lesser-known sports like archery and badminton and judo on the online channels.

But the exclusive technology deal with Microsoft is a bust - first you have to download Silverlight, and then when you do, you realize that the experience is 10 times worse than YouTube or any of the other decent Flash-based players out there.

The experience for me was that any time there was action - meaning, substantial motion on screen - the picture got all confused and you missed the interesting part. Not good.
