I have noticed that virtually 90% of the Full Episode videos listed for CBS via PlayOn are not available.
If you select "Full Episodes" instead of clips, it says "There's no Playable files in the folder".
Is there a fix for this, are you aware of it?
Or is it part of this known issue?
Pasted from the "upcoming Features" post in the User Feedback forum.
"Video counts in CBS and YouTube. We realize that the number of videos we show for CBS and YouTube is truncated: we're missing videos. We're working on this. "
Please advise, thx.!

If the folders are empty, it usually means that no full episodes are available for the indicated show. You can verify this on the cbs.com website. We understand that this can be a bit confusing, and we'll try to think of ways to make the experience better!

I noticed that the playon information corresponds with the www.cbs.com/innertube listings and not the actual videos available via cbs.com. For Example. CSI:NY has up to Episode 16, but PlayOn and innertube only have up to Episode 12. Is CBS behind on moving items to innertube, or are they letting it phase out?
Not sure what CBS "Innertube" is, but PlayOn gets CBS content from www.cbs.com/video. We have noticed a delay in certain cases, but it usually "catches up" pretty quickly.

The Eleventh Hour is on CBS with the whole season thus far, but it gives that error in PlayOn.
I have checked a few others that gave the error on full episodes int he past, against the CBS site, and there were indeed full episodes there.
Thus an erroneous error from PlayOn.
I'll try to check later some more shows and see which ones are incorrect in saying there's no videos when selecting full episodes.
Apparently this didn't go to the end, so maybe no one saw it.
Here it is again.

Wait -- are you seeing playback errors, or the issue where videos aren't even listed in the folders in the first place?

When I goto CBS.com/video and select Eleventh Hour, there are no full episodes listed... just fyi
The site gives this when selecting full episodes:
"There are currently no videos in this category.
Please, check back later."
Interesting, I could have sworn there were full episodes there when I originally posted last week.
It's possible I missed the "Full Episodes" tab, and mistook the clips. =)
I have just e-mailed CBS, here's a copy of what I sent them if anyone else wants to send them something, don't copy it exactly. But you get the idea.
I just used the e-mail form on their website.
I just found out about this show, I'd love to start watching it but I don't want to start towards the end/middle of the season.
I'd like to start @ the beginning, so I came here to watch episodes.
There's no full episodes???
Are you going to be adding them soon?
I see episodes for CSI, Amazing race, and such, but I don't watch those shows.
BTW, for purposes of your target audience. I'm Male, and 25.
Thx.
I know this thread is old... but did CBS remove all full episodes??? I tried both on their website and on Playon and don't see full episodes for The Mentalist or Without a Trace. Have not checked others. Anyone know?
Thanks,
RA
It seems like CBS is only putting new episodes (Survivor) on the http://www.cbs.com/hd/ directory and not the www.cbs.com/video directory (which PlayOn gets its content from).
This could become a big issue once the seasons start for Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men and How I Met Your Mother.
The www.cbs.com/video site is apparently always a little bit behind the HD site. That said, we are looking into supporting HD content from CBS (and in general in PlayOn), though there is no definite date yet.

On Friday I was watching NCIS and the whole sixth season was available. Today, the folder is empty. Anyone else having this issue?
YES! I was just into the 12th episode when *Bam* all videos gone:( Only reason I bought Playon
Another question about CBS...went last night to watch the new version of NCIS Los Angeles and its not available under playon CBS on the PS3(I assume all system under playon), but I can play it from Hulu or directly on cbs.com....And there are 2 version...HD and non-HD...do they get moved so you can see them??....are they starting to put new shows in a different place??
The new season of survivor is the same. Although I can watch the first episode through cbs.com on my PC, I can't get it through Playon on my XBox 360. I've got 4 days left on my free trial. Survivor was one of the main reasons I looked at Playon. I may not purchase if I can't watch this season of Survivor.
You should actually write CBS.com, as they appear to have inconsistencies with their website. We are using the feeds available from www.cbs.com/video.

Well, its actually under www.cbs.com/video...if you go to Full Episodes you can see it in the list...And the url is www.cbs.com/primetime, just like NCIS which is able to view on playon...so are you saying you need them to list the show in their Primetime menu or you can't use it? Or if they change where they put shows you can't do anything?
When we navigate in a standard browser to www.cbs.com/video, and then choose from the left menu Primetime > Survivor > Full Episodes, we see no entries, and the message "There are currently no videos in this category. Please, check back later." The link www.cbs.com/primetime is returning a server error 500 -- though we assume this is only temporary at the time of this forum post.

I can view full episodes of the new season of Survivor on www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor. Maybe that is what gthoman was trying to point out earlier. Either way, is there a way that Playon could be updated to look for other CBS content under their other URLs?
It is a fairly big change to modify PlayOn to use these different URL paths. We highly encourage you to write in to cbs.com and request that they keep their site updated with the latest videos through www.cbs.com/video.

I have been patient for survivor but now The Amazing Race is on the site you mention and I can not watch it as I get 404 no found error. I will look for that error but it seems the only problem I have is with CBS content. That should be worked on especially if I can see the video link but the video does not play.
Bill from Lakeland, Fl.
Send in a support ticket in PlayOn Settings after reproducing the playback error. Thanks.

If it has not been said.... Playon support is awesome. Replies are so fast I can't refresh my page fast enough. I do hope all of the bugs get worked out and new versions need not continue to be released every 45 minutes but hats off to the support staff none the less...
I'm looking into this as well. I missed The Good Wife on my DVR last week and tried to catch it on PlayOn. This is my first year using PlayOn, does anyone know if CBS moves their shows from the HD address (www.cbs.com/hd) to the regular video one later?
Survivor has been updated on www.cbs.com/video. I was able to watch this season's first three episodes on Playon last night. I am not sure about other shows though. I emailed CBS last week and asked that they update Survivor. I don't know if they updated the Survivor videos due to my request or if it was something that they just hadn't done yet.
Loving this CBS thread. So here is something a little different in regards to survivor. I've noticed that there seems to be a 100 item limit on the clips folder for Survivor. Is this something that can be modified. It does now seem that the list of clips is loading Last-In-Last-Out so I think we are able to see the latest clips.
And one more - what would it take to get to the 'Ponderosa' clips of survivor. When I look at the url it appears to be a querystring that identifies the content - can PlayOn deal with that?
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/video/?vs=Ponderosa
Thanks folks!

Keep in mond that show shows will never be online. Some shows are filmed by other film studios and they hold the rights to distribute the show online.
If you look for the "The Mentalist" you will never find it on CBS. And if you look for Eastwick you will not find it on ABC or HULU
The Mentalist
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mentalist
Production company(s) Primrose Hill Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television
When HULU started out they did not have Stargate at first. Stargate is produced by MGM and SCi-FI is part of NBC Universal studios.
Some shows will never be oneline other shows take time to have the paper work, worked out.
