The media center extenders work against media center, and can not tune to a UPNP source per se, so this won't work..unless you have a UPNP reciever on your MCE box that supported an extender.
Has anyone ever seen a client for UPNP that will stream to MCE? I am growing more and more convinced that Microsoft thinks that MCE is a dead system. It seems that obvious functions are missing after many years of MCE production. My DirecTV reciever uses PlayOn very well. I would rather run it through may LinkSys MCE.
i have the linksys media extender and it doesnt work with playon. hell it doesnt work with any upnp. i use mine to stream my hd channels to the big screen thats about it.
There is new VMC plug in called vmcPlayIt that leverages PlayOn technology. It is in the midlst of being built, but there is a beta version to test. Still buggy, but very promising. Here's a link:
