Let PlayOn stream from live stream sites?
Will there ever be a chance that PlayOn will work for live stream sites like Justin.tv, ustream.tv and ufrag.tv? This would be a perfect addition to this software! |
It's technically possible. Make sure you make a suggestion to the 3rd party developers at www.playonplugins.com. Chances are much higher that someone will build it there before we ever get to it.

The suggestion was already made. Their concern was the delay that would be needed to buffer enough of the video not to cause the video to have to rebuffer.

In theory, it should work, despite the concerns brought up in that post. PlayOn does download as quickly as possible, but it will still be able to transcode even if the quickest is playback speed.

So theoretically, it should work with very little delay on the transcoding end?
Is there any possibility of playing video with streams that are Microsoft Silverlight?
