PlayOn Blog -- keep with us!

New PlayOn Facebook Page

As part of our efforts to get the word out about PlayOn, we have just launched a new Facebook page. We are trying to build up a community in advance of our launch so that we can hit the ground running and start getting the word out about PlayOn. We'd love your help! Check out the page, become a fan, post a video. In fact, we are offering a free license key ($30 value) for the person who posts the most creative video showing how COOL PlayOn is. And - of course, everyone is entitled to a free 14 day trial....

So - check it out - share your thoughts and feedback - and let us know why YOU think PlayOn is cool (or not....)

Juan, we're sorry to hear

Juan, we're sorry to hear about your frustration. The last release was very stable for the vast majority of our users, and we are now transitioning to our first final release. So, we appreciate immensely the help we received during the beta testing period, but as that period is ending, we have allowed the trial to expire.

But we do welcome you to come back and give PlayOn a shot when we push the official release (just a couple weeks away). The trial period will be reset for everyone then, to 14 days, as well as in an interim release that we're pushing in a day or two.

We're a bit shocked by the negative reactions we've had with PlayOn, to be honest. We do however welcome all your feedback, even the quite negative. But we hope that at least to our credit, you consider that most beta programs are closed to the general public. We hope that everyone at least appreciates that we've gone out of our way to make PlayOn available from day 1, so that you could even try it in the first place!

The product has definite

The product has definite promise and seemed to be working well until I got a message that the trial has run out.
I've never seen legitimate company try to charge people for a product in Beta. Not sure if you are new to the definition of Beta but it's primary purpose is for testing and getting feedback prior to launch. A trial and purchase period are for released products.
While I would encourage you to correct this policy until you launch, you've given me enough distrust of you by this sleezy policy that I'm unistalling this and won't be back until you've released a product and enough time has past for you to prove you have credibility that you haven't shown during beta.

PlayOn enables you to watch Hulu, Netflix, CBS.com, ESPN, CNN, and YouTube on your TV via your PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, Wii, or HP MediaSmart TV. This blog will help you keep up to date with what is going on with PlayOn.
